The Rumson Run 2002
The 10th annual Rumson Run will be held on Sunday May 5th, 2002 at 9:30 am.
Profits help fund scholarships for Rumson Fair Haven Regional High School students, the Rumson & Fair Haven Elementary Schools, and local volunteer emergency service groups
The Run includes three events:
- A.J. Bruder Memorial 5-Mile Grand Prix Race
- Rumson-Fair Haven Community 3K Fun Run
- Kiddie Dashes
- Applications are available at the following locations:
- Rumson and Fair Haven Schools (only available for school students).
- Rumson and Fair Haven Businesses
- Sports Authority in West Long Branch
- The Running Store in Shrewsbury
- Shore-Area Distance Running Events

- -From
the Garden State Parkway, Exit 109
- Turn east on Newman Springs Road (Route 520) towards Red Bank and continue for 2-3 miles to the end of Newman Springs Road.
- Turn left (north) on Broad Street and then turn right at the second light (east) on Harding Road.
- Travel east for 4 miles (Harding Road becomes Ridge Road after 1.5 miles).
- At the stop light (Bingham Road). Rumson-Fair Haven High School, the registration and finish area, is on the far left corner. Parking is available in the East and West lots and on the neighboring side streets, except Blackpoint Road.
- -From
State Highway 36
- Travel to Sea Bright on Highway 36.
- Turn west at the Sea Bright-Rumson Bridge.
- Travel west 3 miles on Rumson Road and then turn right (north) on Bingham Ave (Route 8A).
- Go north on Bingham Ave for 1/2 mile until the first stop light (Ridge Road). Rumson-Fair Haven High School, the registration and finish area, is on the far right corner.
- ABSOLUTELY NO STROLLERS, ROLLER BLADES, SKATEBOARDS OR BICYCLES ALLOWED IN 5 MILE OR THE 3K RACE.

- Start on Blackpoint Road and head east to Navasink Avenue.
- Turn right on Navasink Avenue and head south to Rumson Road.
- Turn right on Rumson Road and head west to Buena Vista Avenue.
- Turn right on Buena Vista Avenue and head north to Ridge Road.
- Turn right on Ridge Road and head east to Forrest Avenue.
- Turn left on Forrest Avenue and continue to athletic field gate.
- Follow directions to track and 1/2 lap to finish.
Rumson-Fair Haven Community 3K Fun Run
- Start on Blackpoint Road and head east to Forrest Avenue.
- Turn left on Forrest Avenue and head north to Narumson Street.
- Turn left on Narumson Road and head west to Park Avenue.
- Turn right on Park Avenue and head north to River Road.
- Turn right on River Road and head east to Lennox Avenue.
- Turn right on Lennox Avenue and head south to Lakeside Avenue.
- Turn left on Lakeside Avenue and head east to River Road.
- Turn right on River Road and head east to Blackpoint Road.
- Turn right on Blackpoint Road and west to Forrest Avenue and athletic field gate.
- Follow directions to track and 1/2 lap to finish.
10:45 am Award Ceremony 5-Mile Race
11:15 am Rumson-Fair Haven Community 3K Fun Run
- 12:00 noon Kiddie Dashes
- The Run will take place rain or shine.
